Five Years Old & Exciting Letters!!

It has been a very busy week for the Gruar household with the celebration of Jack's 5Th Birthday on Thursday. He had a super day going out for lunch with Nanny & poppy and playing with all his cool new toys during the day. Then when dad arrived home from work, he was presented with even more presents and got to choose where dad took him out for tea - He chose a bar meal at the Tara's where he got to enjoy free pots of raspberry, chocolate frogs and was treated like a celebrity by all patrons.

It was also very exciting this week when we received in the mail a much awaited letter. It read as follows;
Dear Jessica & Phillip
It is with pleasure that we offer Jack a position at St Mary's School for the 2009 school year.

WHOOP WHOOP - YEAH - YEAH!! You could not imagine how thrilled we were to finally get this letter and know that we had a position at our school of choice (especially after it was such a huge procrastinating decision for me). Jack was so happy as he had been telling everyone he was going to this school and is looking forward to his interview at the school tomorrow morning.

Well I better go and feed these hungry hippo's before they start foaming at the mouth and attack. I will leave you with a picture of a canvas that Jack did over the weekend. He got some acrylic paints for his b'day and he has been painting up a storm.

He calls this one "Man up a ladder picking apples from his apple tree with his pet birds!!"

Oh Jess, I am just in love with Jack's beautiful portrait of the man picking apples - the clarity and expression in his work is fantastic! A definite creative talent there, you must be extremely proud of that! (and you do a great job in nurturing his interests!)

To Jack, thank you for sharing your beautiful canvas, you paint beyond your years, brilliant work! I look forward to seeing more of your fantastic work!
